This video shows the melt and refreeze of phase change material.
Discharge: As the material melts from solid to liquid, its color changes from opaque white to clear and its density decreases leading it to expand. Recharge: As the PCM refreezes, it returns to opaque white and the original smaller volume. Significant latent heat is exchanged during these processes. |

This is a screen shot of the Graphical User Interface of a custom TFSG PCM heat exchanger analysis tool.
This multi-dimensional model has been optimized for rapid processing on custom hardware - a 64 core liquid cooled work station. The tool can be used for characterization and optimization. This model has been correlated with empirical data to better inform modeling and build of PCM units. It is possible to modify the program for customer distribution. |
